How we started

It all started with a 5 bottle wine kit for Christmas. The wine turned out great and our curiosity ventured deeper, wine made from the first fresh grapes, Leon Millot.  In 2015 we built a wine room in the garage and harvested two bins of Cabernet Sauvignon that we aged in recoopered oak.

Passion

Our journey continued in 2016 as we contracted 1,000 lbs each of Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Malbec…enough grapes to provide 3 each 59 gallon Bordeaux barrels of wine.  The home cellar quickly became full after an additional two years of winemaking.  My wife and I decided that the hobby was out of control so we began the application for approving a new Spokane based winery.

Craftmanship

At Thomas Clare Cellars we start our focus on the quality of the fruit.   We partnered with Seven Hills Vineyards and two micro vineyards in Walla Walla and Benton City that all have elite managing growing practices.

Its a joint effort between the grower and the winemaker that work out the fine details for producing optimum fruit picked at the magical time of maturity.
